📋 Description

• Architect, build, and optimize high-performance software systems • Spearhead platform modernization, strategic technology changes, and code refactoring • Use AI coding tools to generate, review, and critically evaluate AI-assisted code • Drive technical story breakdowns, acceptance criteria, and architectural design across complex, multi-tier application layers • Lead work from feature scoping through implementation • Manage product availability, latency, scalability, and efficiency • Perform advanced system tuning and engineer reliability into core software systems • Promote development best practices across the department • Conduct detailed design and implementation code reviews • Build automation frameworks to prevent recurring problems • Coach and mentor engineers at multiple levels • Identify and close team skill gaps and accelerate technical growth • Share domain knowledge across the department • Publish high-quality content to Engineering’s permanent documentation site

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related technical/analytical discipline; equivalent experience is not accepted in lieu of a degree • 10+ years of relevant software development experience with a BS, or 8+ years paired with a Master of Science in Computer Science or related field • Expert coding, scripting, and debugging proficiency in Java, Python, or Go • Deep working knowledge of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure • Ability to contribute at a senior individual contributor level • Demonstrated ability to drive technical decisions and shape engineering practices beyond a single team or project • Experience using AI coding assistants and evaluating, coaching others on, and selectively applying AI-generated code in production • Proven experience developing, optimizing, and maintaining a high-volume, mission-critical production service environment • Exceptional ability to communicate technical architectures verbally, visually, and in writing to diverse engineering audiences • Preferred: experience designing microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines • Preferred: experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP • Experience with Salesforce or ServiceNow valued
