📋 Description

• Teach novice and advanced students ages 5–17 in group arts classes • Conduct classes 1–4 times per week • Create lesson plans • Maintain class attendance • Collect data as needed • Maintain a safe and positive classroom experience • Assist with performances and exhibits at the annual Prodigy Showcase • Plan and organize work assignments and meet established deadlines • Perform administrative tasks related to instruction • Work with students, parents, program partners, researchers, program administrators, and fellow employees • No supervisory responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Knowledge of art teaching to school-age children and diverse adult populations • Classroom communication skills and ability to relate to youth and diverse adults • Knowledge of designated music/art specialty and ability to convey its history, concepts, and techniques • Written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work with youth ages 5–17 and adults • Ability to work independently, plan and organize assignments, and meet deadlines • Ability to understand and apply program procedures, regulations, and rules • High school diploma and/or associate degree; BA preferred • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in art instruction • Prior experience facilitating arts education to children and youth required • Familiarity with standard arts-instruction concepts, practices, and procedures required • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint • Ability to multitask; problem-solving, prioritization, time-management, organization, and collaboration skills • State FDLE Level II background screening, fingerprinting, and drug screening required • Availability during after-school and summer hours • Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally
