📋 Description

• Ensure final resolution of each customer inquiry in a timely and courteous manner • Document detailed information relevant to customer contacts • Research systems and contact experts in other company areas when needed • Strive for first-time resolution • Communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing • Explain complex insurance topics and benefits to a wide audience without jargon • Listen, comprehend customer concerns, and ask appropriate questions to support resolution • Maintain accurate and complete electronic conversation notes in appropriate software systems • Interact directly with members, groups, and providers • Resolve issues related to ABCBS products, services, and health insurance plans • Complete interactions according to company standards, directives, and state and federal guidelines • Handle confrontational situations with empathy, politeness, etiquette, and tact • Reach fact-based, objective conclusions and resolve complaints • Gain conclusive agreement through negotiation • Develop expertise in benefits and eligibility for health insurance plans across multiple lines of business • Find information needed to provide superior customer service • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Minimum two (2) years' experience in a specialized customer service environment OR two (2) years' college coursework (at least 48 credit hours) plus one (1) year experience in a specialized customer service environment • Customer resolutions • Multitasking • Active listening • Keyboarding • Ability to work independently • Independent thinking • Organized and detail oriented • Written and verbal communication skills • Customer service • Problem solving • Ability to work in a high-stress environment • Computer literacy • Must pass company proficiency test: Customer Service Assessment • Must communicate using business English, correct grammar, and precise vocabulary • Must comply with HIPAA privacy rules and applicable state and federal guidelines
