📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end insights pipeline for internal and external data requests, from scoping through execution and delivery • Orchestrate request intake and project tracking systems including Zendesk, HubSpot, and Asana • Serve as point person for media and partner data requests, clarifying scope, deliverables, and timelines • Conduct descriptive and exploratory analyses of sheltering data • Create bespoke insights for press, internal requests, peer-reviewed publications, and seasonal reporting • Create documents, summary tables, and data visualizations for varied audiences • Develop analytical scripts in SQL, Python, or R and maintain documentation • Design self-service dashboards and automate data analysis workflows • Build relationships across teams and with external partners • Develop reports, dashboards, and monitoring tools for data quality and observability • Investigate data quality events and anomalies; lead quality triage and escalation • Support machine learning model improvement through data preparation, validation, model runs, and results summarization • Uphold data governance policies, business rules, definitions, and quality assurance protocols • Integrate and evaluate third-party macroeconomic, demographic, and community data • Streamline and automate manual processes • Document data quality issues, decisions, and known limitations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, data management, data reporting, or applied research required • Experience in the animal welfare field working with sheltering data required • Experience with sheltering data in shelter management software such as PetPoint, Chameleon, Shelterluv, ShelterBuddy, or similar • Experience managing structured intake and project tracking systems • Knowledge and experience with SQL and either Python or R • Knowledge and experience with data visualization and dashboard tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar • Familiarity with descriptive and inferential statistical techniques • Experience communicating and presenting to technical and non-technical audiences • Experience with animal welfare data collection, animal sheltering software, and animal shelter data analysis required • English required • Ability to travel up to 10% annually • Ability to work generally Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, with flexibility for some early mornings, evenings, and weekends • Advanced degree in statistics, data science, data analytics, or related quantitative field preferred, or equivalent work experience • Experience improving supervised learning and forecasting models is a plus • Experience with or enthusiasm for AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, or Copilot • Ability to exemplify ASPCA core values and behavioral competencies
