• Provide medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca’s renal marketed products, new indications, and compounds in development • Engage in scientific exchange with targeted Key Opinion Leaders, Key Decision Makers, and Healthcare Professionals • Identify and engage key customers using scientific expertise and business knowledge • Develop peer-level relationships with Key Decision Makers, Healthcare Professionals, and researchers • Identify pre-clinical, clinical, and post-marketing study investigators • Uncover barriers to optimal disease management and identify opportunities to improve patient outcomes • Provide actionable information to internal stakeholders about the value and appropriate use of AstraZeneca products • Respond to customer inquiries with focused and balanced clinical and scientific information • Deliver clinical and scientific information that differentiates AstraZeneca products • Follow internal standard processes and regulatory and compliance requirements • Maintain expertise in disease-state management, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape • Provide clinical support and deliver regional and national data presentations • Lead and manage projects within the field medical team and therapeutic area • Provide training, performance guidelines, and mentorship to others
• Advanced Clinical/Science Degree required, such as MD, PharmD, PhD, NP, or PA-C; BSN with extensive clinical experience may be considered • 3 years of experience in a clinical or commercial setting • Thorough understanding of the healthcare system landscape • Established networks and clinical experience within the therapeutic area • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry • Expertise discussing scientific content and context with multiple audiences • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills • Strong leadership capabilities • Excellent project management ability • Thorough knowledge of the regulatory environment • Ability to travel 50–70% • Established experience delivering quality improvement initiatives is desirable • 2+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience in the pharmaceutical industry is desirable • Established track record of basic or clinical research is desirable
