📋 Description

• Represent Shionogi Inc. and its products to key opinion leaders, clinicians, institutions, and professional organizations • Build and manage relationships with KOLs and healthcare professionals through meaningful scientific exchange • Respond to unsolicited requests for information about marketed and developing products • Provide scientific disease-state and product discussions supporting therapeutic concepts and safe, effective product use • Advise company management on therapeutic-area dynamics, business development, and KOL feedback • Work cross-functionally on clinical and scientific matters • Establish and maintain relationships with KOLs, HCPs, academic institutions, payors, and patient organizations • Design and execute plans for the assigned MSL region aligned with medical strategy and KOL priorities • Identify relevant HCPs based on medical strategy and patient needs • Document unsolicited medical and scientific requests and liaise with investigators on investigator-initiated research submissions • Deliver and develop fair-balanced clinical and scientific presentations with medical review committee approval • Identify and train speakers for advisory boards, symposia, and educational programs • Attend national and regional medical/scientific meetings, engage attendees, attend scientific sessions, gather information, and summarize findings • Evaluate competitor research and therapeutic-area intelligence; analyze findings and present insights to internal stakeholders • Collaborate with Clinical, Regulatory, Commercial, Legal, Compliance, and other internal groups • Provide disease-state, clinical, and scientific training across functional teams • Provide management input on therapeutic and research advances, business development opportunities and risks, and KOL feedback • Maintain awareness of medical, clinical, regulatory, compliance, and quality processes • Complete administrative reports, expense reports, training, KOL documentation, conference reports, and other required documentation • Analyze operational data, identify trends and root causes, and develop and track KPIs and metrics • Design and ensure delivery of training programs • Drive cross-functional alignment and operational goals • Lead change-management efforts and process improvements • Assess industry best practices and identify opportunities to enhance medical impact and operational efficiency • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Doctoral level degree in life sciences program with strong scientific knowledge highly preferred • Post grad in virology, infectious disease, epidemiology or related fields considered • Previous MSL experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry required, with previous respiratory infectious disease experience preferred; experience in COVID-19 preferred OR previous MSL experience in the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry preferred with previous respiratory infectious disease experience required • 5+ years MSL experience may be considered for a Senior MSL opportunity • Experience in the outpatient medical community as well as pre- and post-launch product approval activities preferred • Clinical, scientific, and technical knowledge within infectious diseases or respiratory diseases preferred but not required • Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and business strategies • Knowledge of current regulatory guidelines relating to scientific interactions, unsolicited questions, clinical trials, and research • Ethical and professional conduct in accordance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements • Ability to build and maintain relationships with healthcare providers and industry stakeholders • Ability to collaborate with internal colleagues and external organizations across all levels and roles • Ability to communicate effectively and present scientific and medical information to varied audiences • Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives, organize, communicate, and prioritize work effectively • Strategic thinking and innovative problem-solving ability • Demonstrated computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and video conferencing • Flexibility and adaptability to changing healthcare environments and organizational needs • Ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time • Must live within the boundaries of the assigned geographic territory and within a commutable distance to a large airport • Safe driving ability • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a complete background check • Must have valid licenses and credentialing required to conduct the role
