📋 Description

• Provide support to assigned locations, including data centers, Points of Presence (POPs), and physical site services • Coordinate with network teams and local vendors for installation, repair, and maintenance activities • Perform physical installation, repair, maintenance, and testing activities • Help perform card adds or replacements, software upgrades, and associated testing • Recommend process improvements affecting network asset quality and operational efficiency • Provide site survey support for OSP and ISP projects, large space and power projects, and equipment deployments • Perform site audits and reconcile data discrepancies with Network Surveillance and other groups • Assist in managing local construction vendors to ensure compliance with installation, repair, maintenance MOPs, standards, quality, and cleanliness • Coordinate with LEC and other technicians to facilitate installation, repair, and maintenance activities • Perform site surveys for network builds, augments, or decommissions • Assist with site access coordination, equipment staging, and related tasks • Follow established procedures on routine work, with detailed instructions • Perform other duties as required

🎯 Requirements

• Associate's degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 0 to 2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Knowledge of data center and POP infrastructure, including OSP, ISP, interfacility cabling, fiber and copper distribution, AC/DC power systems, environmental controls, and relay rack/cabinet/cage construction • Familiarity with installing and maintaining telecom/network equipment, including DWDMs, backbone and management routers, IP switches, and optical and digital infrastructure • Understanding of splicing and operation within manhole, vault, or handhole environments • Knowledge of telecommunications testing equipment, including microscopes, source and power meters, and OTDRs; experience testing SONET and Ethernet bandwidths • Knowledge of telecommunications testing standards and procedures, including wire-mapping, bit error rate, power, delay, loss, reflectance, and dispersion • Knowledge of state and local regulatory standards, procedures, and permitting requirements • Ability to work effectively with LECs, telecom service providers, landlords, electricians, construction operators, and non-technical end users • Ability to work independently, diagnose problems, and take appropriate action with minimal supervision • Experience with spreadsheets, workflow and project management applications, and administrative software • Understanding of how to use a Tier-1 ITSM platform • Ability to perform office-related tasks, move within an office environment, use a computer, and communicate effectively • Ability to travel as required
