📋 Description

• Responsible for applying engineering and nuclear regulatory knowledge and experience in support of developing power plant systems and programs in accordance with US licensing requirements • Demonstrated understanding of 10 CFR, along with associated regulatory and industry guidance • Part of the ARUSN Licensing group and will work preparing licensing documentation, such as topical and technical reports, Safety Analysis Reports, and applications for certifications, permits, and licenses • Works closely with all engineering disciplines • Supports development of engineering and licensing requirements and documentation for nuclear systems and components in an interactive manner with other engineering functional areas • Prepares, reviews, maintains, and defends licensing documentation supporting a variety of nuclear designs • Prepares and defends position papers for areas where the existing regulatory framework does not apply, or where there is a need for new or revised regulatory requirements or guidance • Prepares and delivers licensing presentations to internal and external organizations • Supports project management for activities including development of licensing submissions • Applies knowledge and experience, industry best practices, regulatory guidance, codes and standards, and good engineering judgment to ensure the design is compliant with International regulatory criteria and industry best practices • Works to assigned schedules ensuring the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of work and initiates corrective measures to overcome delays • Receives instruction, guidance and direction from more senior licensing engineers and completes duties as assigned • Performs other duties as assigned.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering or related technical or engineering field • Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in nuclear licensing and regulatory affairs • Experience in nuclear industry preferred • Strong communication skills • Familiarity with industry standards and licensing guides • Excellent technical writing, interpersonal and effective communication skills • Experience in drafting and reviewing licensing applications and submittals • Experience working with designers and engineers to develop a safety analysis report (SAR) • Prior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered.
