📋 Description

• Lead the PMO Governance function globally across Avantor • Define and maintain a global PMO operating model for a $150M annual Capex portfolio • Establish standards and frameworks for high-priority, high-value initiatives • Drive accountability, transparency, and outcome-based delivery • Provide leadership, coaching, and capability development across global and regional teams • Establish and govern global portfolio management and Capex investment planning processes • Support executive governance forums and investment committees with data-driven decisions • Oversee resource and capacity planning across the Capex portfolio • Maintain consolidated visibility of portfolio performance, value delivery, and dependencies • Define and enforce project lifecycle frameworks, including Gate 5c closure requirements • Monitor project performance against approved baselines and business case commitments • Validate KPIs, benefits, and strategic outcomes at Gate 5c closure • Facilitate cross-regional coordination and manage global dependencies • Implement project controls covering cost, schedule, scope, risk, and benefits • Oversee Capex financial tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis • Establish benefits realization governance and deliver executive reporting • Define global requirements for PMO and PPM tools and ensure data integrity • Integrate project, financial, and operational systems for end-to-end governance • Establish project documentation standards and maintain centralized repositories • Ensure audit-ready documentation and promote continuous improvement through lessons learned • Build organizational capability through training and coaching on prioritization, delivery, and benefits realization • Drive adoption of global PMO standards and governance practices

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in PMO • Experience in chemical, life sciences, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated business environments • Demonstrated experience leading global PMO organizations • Experience in complex global environments with significant capital investment responsibility • Extensive experience leading PMO functions in global, multi-regional organizations • Proven ability to govern enterprise Capex portfolios and prioritize strategic investments • Strong expertise in benefits realization management and business case validation • Experience ensuring projects meet defined outcomes at closure, such as Gate 5c or equivalent • Deep knowledge of project controls, governance, and portfolio management • Ability to influence senior leaders on prioritization and investment decisions • Professional certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, MSP, or Agile preferred
