📋 Description

• Operate and instruct on Unmanned Air Systems (UAS), Tactical Missile Systems (TMS), and Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) in the field • Participate in AeroVironment’s Master Trainer Training Program (MTTP) • Ensure field, flight, and ground operations follow established procedures and are conducted safely • Conduct UAS, TMS, and UGV equipment and material inventories • Advise Master Commanders, customer representatives, and controlling authorities of changes affecting planned training operations • Maintain operational status of UAS/TMS/UGVs and supporting systems • Monitor vehicle location, in-flight status, and air and ground threats • Monitor on-site conditions and intended flight paths • Re-evaluate risk assessments and mitigate elevated risks • Complete field-operation, equipment-status, data-collection, and post-flight documentation • Capture information for after-action reports and lessons-learned databases • Resolve complex issues using company policies and procedures • Perform Site Lead/Mission Commander duties • Conduct formal and informal feedback sessions with assigned workers • Develop and validate training support packages • Ensure instructor/operator currency and proficiency requirements are met • Coordinate with AeroVironment departments on system and manual updates and changes • Support Business Development and Sales activities through CONUS/OCONUS flight and ground demonstrations and customer service visits • Support Field Operations training • Support FSR deployments for TMS

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor’s degree is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • 8+ years of relevant experience • 3+ years of Field Operations Instructor experience • Prior military experience or equivalent training experience in an aircraft / aerospace manufacturing firm • Prior military instructor/Special Operations experience highly desirable • Special Forces, SEAL, Special Tactics, Ranger, Force Recon / MARSOC, Scout, Forward Observer, TACP, or Aviation backgrounds preferred • Prior hobby experience with Remote Controlled (RC) aircraft helpful but not required • Willingness to travel regularly and for extended periods within continental United States (CONUS) • Willingness to travel regularly and for extended periods outside continental United States (OCONUS) • Demonstrated excellence in leadership • Solid understanding of military tactics, operations, GPS and navigation utilizing map and compass • Exceptional analytical skills to solve complex problems • Ability to work with little or no supervision and exercise independent judgment • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, blueprint, or sketch instructions • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and other productivity tools • Ability to lead, train, and mentor small groups of students • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work within a team environment and communicate with senior leadership while mentoring junior staff • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Must meet specified physical demands, including lifting, outdoor work, traversing uneven terrain, prolonged standing or sitting, manual dexterity, and repeated throwing of objects • U.S. Citizenship is required • Secret or Top Secret clearance, or ability to obtain a clearance, is desired • Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR/EAR or be approvable for an export license
