⢠Develop, implement, and maintain editorial policies, procedures, style guides, writing standards, templates, and style manuals ⢠Establish a consistent editorial voice across educational and publication resources while aligning with organizational branding ⢠Ensure publications adhere to evidence-based standards, editorial best practices, accessibility guidelines, and organizational quality expectations ⢠Lead editorial quality assurance for print, digital, online learning, and multimedia educational products ⢠Review complex manuscripts for organization, readability, and clinical accuracy ⢠Manage the complete editorial lifecycle for print and digital publications ⢠Collaborate with nursing subject matter experts, instructional designers, LMS staff, project managers, marketing, internal teams, publishing partners, and vendors ⢠Support dissemination of research and evidence-based resources through multiple communication channels ⢠Monitor publication metrics and recommend editorial process improvements ⢠Evaluate editorial technologies, publishing platforms, and workflow efficiencies ⢠Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives ⢠Assist in developing and managing publication budgets ⢠Manage relationships with freelance editors, copyeditors, designers, printers, and production vendors ⢠Review vendor performance and ensure contractual deliverables are met ⢠Produce books, toolkits, guidelines, position statements, educational resources, online learning materials, and other publications ⢠Oversee manuscript tracking from submission through final publication ⢠Ensure timely production and compliance with copyright, permissions, licensing, and intellectual property requirements ⢠Ensure educational content supports practicing clinicians through adult learning and health literacy principles ⢠Support quality assurance testing for digital learning products ⢠Lead multiple publication projects, timelines, budgets, resources, milestones, and risk mitigation ⢠Serve as primary editorial contact for volunteer authors, reviewers, editors, clinical experts, and internal staff ⢠Guide authors on manuscript preparation, editorial standards, publication requirements, and learner-centered educational writing ⢠Develop author resources and conduct workshops on educational writing, slide development, plain language, assessment writing, and editorial standards ⢠Mentor authors and coordinate peer review and revision processes ⢠Foster productive relationships with interdisciplinary contributors and external partners ⢠Provide professional mentoring and serve as an educational resource for new and current staff
⢠Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Publishing, Nursing, Health Sciences, or a related field (Required) ⢠Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered ⢠Five or more years of progressively responsible editorial or publishing experience ⢠Experience managing multiple publication projects from concept through production ⢠Experience editing technical, scientific, healthcare, or educational materials ⢠Experience developing editorial standards or style guides ⢠Experience working with volunteer authors, editorial boards, or subject matter experts ⢠Strong editorial judgment and exceptional attention to detail ⢠Advanced copyediting and proofreading skills ⢠Knowledge of publishing standards, copyright, permissions, and editorial ethics ⢠Knowledge of grammar, consistency, and instructional effectiveness ⢠Ability to ensure consistency across educational products while recognizing the distinct writing needs of clinician learners versus scholarly publications ⢠Ability to maintain editorial calendars and publication schedules to meet organizational priorities and deadlines ⢠Ability to develop and maintain editorial policies, procedures, templates, and style manuals ⢠Experience with online learning and educational publishing strongly preferred ⢠Familiarity with learning management systems and eLearning platforms preferred ⢠Experience in an association, nonprofit, academic, healthcare, or medical publishing environment preferred ⢠Master's degree in communications, Publishing, Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline (Preferred)
