• Report on and showcase expertise in mergers, LBOs and hostile takeovers • Break news for Axios Pro Deals' engaged audience • Beat competitors on M&A coverage • Identify major story ideas and produce conceptual stories • Drive conversation with scoops and trend stories • Get sources to break news during live conference appearances • Serve as an expert guest on TV, radio and podcasts • Collaborate with internal and external audiences • Explain why M&A developments matter to Axios readers • Develop AI literacy and use AI tools to enhance productivity, creativity and efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• Subject matter expertise on the M&A landscape • Passion for news, scoops and scoring exclusives • Exceptional writing abilities • Highly skilled at spotting top story ideas and crafting conceptual stories • Expertise driving the conversation with scoops and trend stories • Experience on stage at conferences getting sources to break news in a live setting • Comfortable on TV, radio and podcasts as an expert guest • Ability to collaborate closely and effectively with internal and external audiences • Positive attitude and ability to thrive in a high-pressure news environment • Commitment to building and supporting a diverse and inclusive environment • Belief in Smart Brevity as Axios's core writing style • Well sourced inside banks, law firms, advisers and the M&A world • Ability to clearly explain the significance of M&A developments to readers • Entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Axios' reader-first mission • Expected to actively develop AI literacy and use AI tools responsibly
