📋 Description

• Process payments, adjustments, claims, correspondence, refunds, denials, financial/charity applications, and payment plans accurately and promptly • Reconcile, balance, and pursue account balances, payments, and denials to maximize reimbursement • Research payments, denials, and accounts to identify payment discrepancies, contract issues, incorrect financial classes, and errors • Make appeals and corrections as necessary • Coordinate with staff members and physician office staff to ensure correct processing • Build working relationships with business units, hospital departments, and provider offices • Identify payment issue trends and communicate with internal and external customers to educate and correct problems • Respond to incoming calls and make outbound calls to resolve billing, payment, and accounting issues • Work toward patient financial services goals for outstanding accounts and reduce Accounts Receivable balances • Use systems to document information, provide statistical data, prepare issue lists, and communicate accurately with payors • Work independently under general supervision and report to a Supervisor or Manager • Solve problems and reconcile accounts in a timely manner

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge • Patient financial services, financial, collecting services, or insurance industry experience normally acquired over one or more years of work experience • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and work independently • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills • Strong knowledge of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software • Experience with Cerner Rev Cycle and PowerChart, NextGen, MS4, FinThrive Claims and Collections, and payer websites • Billing, Accounts Receivable, and health insurance experience desired • Work experience with Banner Health systems and processes preferred • Previous cash collections experience preferred
