📋 Description

• Request, follow up on, obtain, and validate authorizations, referrals, and notifications with appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes within appropriate timelines • Work in a call center environment and meet individual quality metrics • Coordinate patient flow and process work timely • Maintain knowledge and deploy practices used within the department, physician practice, and hospital to address patient questions or concerns • Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements, BHSF pricing, financial assistance options, and BHSF Revenue Cycle operations • Provide professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma is required • Minimum of 1 year experience validating/obtaining authorizations with insurance payers • Complete and pass the Patient Access training course • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations • Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills • Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology desired • Experience with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and EMR applications • Accurate typing skills • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, and EMTALA • Knowledge of Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines • Bilingual English, Spanish/Creole preferred
