📋 Description

• Obtain insurance information from patients and counsel them on alternative financial assistance options • Communicate with physicians and clinical staff to assist with urgent or referred patient scheduling requests • Schedule and register patients by phone or email, without patient contact • Collect patient demographics and insurance registration information • Review new-patient schedules and make updates when necessary • Call patients with appointment reminders and obtain insurance information and referral forms • Process internal physician referrals for clinical care • Explain the billing process to patients and staff • Answer incoming inquiries from patients and third-party payers • Assist with basic account maintenance activities • Help patients with insurance questions regarding billing • Assist staff with reminder cards and other scheduling duties • Work Relatient patient reminder system results and contact patients or make scheduling changes • Make daily edits and temporary changes to provider scheduling templates based on physician input when needed • Work with others to solve moderately complex problems

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification, or combination of education and/or experience • 3 years of relevant experience • No specific certification/professional license required • Driver's license not required • Preferred familiarity with billing systems, customer service, Epic EHR, financial information, insurance, medical office support, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, organizing, prioritization, scheduling, and third-party claims • Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily • Successful completion of applicable pre-employment screening for external candidates, including criminal background check and, as applicable, other background checks, drug screen, employment and education or licensure/certification verification, physical examination, vaccinations, and/or governmental registry checks
