• Contribute to the growth of Isaacson, Miller, a national retained executive search firm specializing in leadership recruitment in the civic sector • Support Partners in building client relationships, developing business, and ensuring successful, high-quality completion of executive searches • Carry several search projects simultaneously and participate in all stages of the search process • Collaborate with Partners to develop and execute research and networking strategies • Recruit and screen candidates • Conduct candidate references and manage due diligence • Oversee search timelines • Prepare for and participate in client presentations • Scope positions with clients through initial site visits with Partners and gather information about roles, organizational challenges, and ambitions • Write, edit, and proofread initial position-description drafts • Develop diverse candidate pools through research and phone and email communications using IM’s proprietary database • Evaluate candidate credentials, credibility, and organizational fit through evidence-based assessment and in-depth phone interviews • Maintain positive relationships with clients, candidates, sources, and other contacts • Present candidate pools to clients through in-person and virtual meetings • Draft memos and supplemental documents and ensure the accuracy, clarity, and consistency of presented materials • Update the firm’s database with candidate, source, and client information • Brief Partners on search progress, market feedback, and individual candidate situations • Oversee the flow of candidate information to clients alongside Search Coordinators
• Bachelor’s degree • Two to six years of progressively responsible professional experience • Exceptional written and oral communication skills • Maturity and discretion in maintaining relationships involving confidential issues • Ability to build rapport with people at all organizational levels • Capacity to extract and persuasively articulate client organizations’ ambitions and challenges • Ability to evaluate prospective candidates’ accomplishments, credibility, and organizational fit using evidence-based assessment • Ability to take initiative and work independently while knowing when to ask for guidance • Excellent time management and ability to juggle competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines • Conscientiousness in producing high-quality work and attending to detail • Collegial and collaborative nature • Intellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and professional development • Relational talent and engaging personality • Honesty, openness, and a healthy sense of humor • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion • Cultural competence to work effectively across multiple lines of difference • Comfortable working hours aligned with client schedules • Resume and cover letter required for application
