• Support the Advocacy team and help establish The Trevor Project as a key player in state advocacy • Develop efficient procedures to streamline team operations • Create and distribute Trevor-branded materials, research, and talking points • Expand partnerships through relationship building • Collect data and track legislation • Assist with grassroots mobilization • Coordinate the Advocacy Intern program • Manage operational necessities including record keeping, scheduling, and logistics • Configure and maintain team databases and tracking tools, including Salesforce, Asana, Mobile Commons, and Quorum • Train staff, interns, and volunteers on database and tracking tools • Maintain the Advocacy team inbox and calendar • Update operations manuals, workflows, and performance dashboards • Monitor the advocacy travel budget and manage travel, schedules, retreats, and community meeting logistics • Maintain lobbying and team-activity tracking systems for regulatory compliance • Track and report on federal and state legislation and regulatory agency actions • Draft and edit policy memos, comments, social media graphics and posts, educational resources, talking points, and advocacy resources • Produce and analyze field-specific data for public-facing reports and educational materials • Attend virtual meetings and hearings, take notes, and report relevant information • Build and maintain relationships with nonprofit organizations and partners • Coordinate initiatives across Research, Communications, Development, and Marketing, and assist with corporate partnership deliverables
• 1–3 years of experience in public policy, community organizing, nonprofit administration, or legal/legislative operations • Demonstrable commitment to LGBTQ rights, youth mental health, or crisis intervention advocacy • Eagerness to grow support for LGBTQ rights among conflicted audiences • Ability to manage multi-stakeholder projects and coordinate large-scale meeting logistics • Planning and problem-solving skills, including multitasking and working within tight timelines • Spoken and written English proficiency • Ability to learn eagerly, share knowledge appropriately, and improve continuously • Ability to work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with others • Attention to detail and accuracy • Commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of belonging • Authorization to work for any employer in the United States • Ability to work remotely in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii
