📋 Description

• Serve as a primary source of support for the Health System, Baptist outpatient services, and ambulatory surgical centers • Respond to health information requests from former patients, physicians, hospital staff, and other requestors • Preserve the confidentiality of patients' protected health information • Perform quality assessment reviews on releases of health information • Check requests for all required components to ensure proper, complete, and accurate disclosure • Answer phone calls and provide information in accordance with hospital policy, state and federal law, HIPAA, and Information Blocking regulations • Provide exemplary customer service • Work as part of a team to meet release-of-protected-health-information and department goals • Travel to different sites for depositions or court hearings

🎯 Requirements

• High school, certificate, GED, training, or experience qualification listed • 3 years of experience in release of records and/or an acute care setting for a large healthcare organization required • Associate’s degree in health information management preferred • RHIT, RHIA, or Health Services Administration certificates preferred • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical chart format • Computer skills • Ability to work in a highly focused, customer-service-oriented setting with high-volume telephone experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent computer proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service • Ability to multitask and work independently within given instructions, routines, and accepted practices • Attention to fine details and exceptional organizational skills • Ability to travel to different sites for depositions or court hearings
