πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Accurately codes Inpatient records for the classification of all diseases, injuries, procedures, and operations using the ICD10CM/PCS coding system. β€’ Ensures compliance of coding rules and regulations according to Regulatory Agencies (CMS, OIG). β€’ Works as a team to meet departmental goals and AR goals. β€’ Abstracts prescribed data elements from the medical records.

🎯 Requirements

β€’ High School Diploma or Equivalent β€’ Must have AHIMA CCS or RHIT β€’ AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist. β€’ AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician. β€’ Required coding certificate. β€’ With extensive relevant experience and not CCS or RHIT certified upon hire they must obtain within 2 years. β€’ Knowledge and thorough understanding of encoder system, Inpatient Prospective Payment System (IPPS), DRG/MSDRGs and National and Local Coverage Determination, NCD and LCD, Policies. β€’ Competency in Word and Excel. β€’ Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management staff, and physicians. β€’ Minimum Required Experience: 3 years of inpatient facility coding
