📋 Description

• Directly manage and develop the Accounting Supervisor, Revenue Accountant and Part-Time AR Manager • Serve as the escalation point for judgment calls, exceptions and unusual transactions • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews and career development planning for direct reports • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities across owned functions • Review and approve AP aging and cash disbursement forecasts • Oversee vendor master data controls, invoice-PO match exception resolution, and T&E policy compliance • Review complex accrual estimates, vendor disputes, and contract interpretation matters • Review monthly revenue-to-cash reconciliations across sales channels including Shopify, Amazon and wholesale • Oversee revenue recognition policy application, chargebacks, returns/refund reserves, and payment processor fees • Review and approve judgmental reserve estimates • Own the AR reserve and oversee collections aging, customer credit memos, deduction management, cash application, and unapplied cash resolution • Own the close calendar and checklist across managed functions and direct general ledger accounts • Prepare and/or review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, internal controls, and testing • Prepare and/or review cash reconciliations for operating, payroll and merchant/payment processor bank accounts • Own the fixed asset sub-ledger, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and internal software capitalizations • Maintain prepaid expense and accrued liability schedules • Record and reconcile debt instruments, investments, related interest, leases under ASC 842, and other corporate schedules • Serve as secondary technical reviewer for non-routine general ledger entries and account classifications

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required • CPA strongly preferred • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP • Experience with multi-channel e-commerce accounting strongly preferred • Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite strongly preferred) and advanced Excel skills • Demonstrated experience managing a monthly close process and reconciliation cadence • Demonstrated success automating accounting processes and reducing close cycle time, such as saved searches, workflows, and system integrations • Experience with AP/T&E automation platforms and CRM/AR tools • Systems- and process-oriented, with a focus on automating and simplifying manual processes • Comfortable operating with a high degree of ownership and accountability during time-sensitive close cycles • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document accounting conclusions and communicate effectively with non-accountants • Residing anywhere in the United States and authorized to work in the U.S. • Standard working hours to coincide with 9:00am-6:00pm EST
