📋 Description

• Deliver practical, business-focused contracting guidance to business leaders, risk management, compliance, government relations, and other stakeholders • Manage legal support for vendor agreements and align contracts with BECU's strategic objectives and risk framework • Review, draft, and negotiate complex technology, SaaS, AI, data privacy, and commercial agreements • Develop and maintain contract playbooks, templates, and standardized risk positions • Partner on implementation and adoption of BECU's Contract Lifecycle Management platform and process improvements • Coach, mentor, and develop the existing non-lawyer contract team • Serve as a senior escalation resource for significant legal contracting issues • Support legal operations, outside counsel management, policy development, and continuous improvement initiatives • Build and evolve legal contracting and vendor governance capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school • Active Bar membership in good standing • 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm, financial institution, fintech, regulatory agency, or combination thereof • 5+ years management or leadership experience required • Occasional travel may be required • Strong legal drafting, analytical, and issue-spotting capabilities • Significant experience with SaaS and technology contracts, DPAs, and AI addendums • Ability to balance legal risks against business initiatives • Expertise in GLBA, CCPA, Open Banking, and other data privacy regulations • Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, concise, actionable guidance • Strong interest in emerging technologies, evolving business models, and changing regulatory frameworks
