📋 Description

• Lead and manage all aspects of litigation involving restrictive covenants, errors and omissions, and contractual disputes from pre-litigation strategy through resolution, including trials or hearings • Appear in court to argue motions, attend hearings, and conduct trials as necessary • Provide strategic counseling on hiring and onboarding practices, including pre- and post-hire risk assessments and mitigation strategies • Obtain or defeat temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions in restrictive covenant disputes, often on an expedited or emergency basis • Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents related to disputes and settlements • Select, retain, and supervise outside counsel; manage budgets, strategy, and case outcomes • Advise business leaders on litigation risks, dispute avoidance, and contract enforcement • Develop and execute strategies for arbitration and alternative dispute resolution • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and Operations teams to identify risks early and align with business objectives • Prepare regular litigation reports and updates for executive leadership • Contribute to litigation protocols and e-discovery management systems • Monitor legal trends and regulatory developments affecting the company’s litigation exposure • Coordinate with the General Counsel on litigation strategy, prioritization, and resource allocation

🎯 Requirements

• JD from an accredited school • Active license and good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction • Minimum of 8 years of relevant litigation experience, including restrictive covenant litigation • Substantial hands-on experience obtaining or defeating temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions in expedited proceedings • Insurance industry experience preferred • Ability to manage litigation and investigations internally and manage outside counsel • Proven ability to advocate effectively in court and other legal forums • Ability to think strategically and evaluate economic, legal, and reputational risks to the Company • Ability to develop creative and compliant solutions for complicated issues • Excellent organizational and analytical skills • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple issues involving business partners in various locations • Highest level of judgment, ethical conduct, and integrity • High degree of self-motivation, strategic thinking, and attention to detail • Must meet applicable state insurance licensing requirements for positions requiring a state insurance license; must not be disqualified or barred from licensure or prohibited under Title 18 U.S. Code §§1033 and 1034
