📋 Description

• Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for clients, leading financial review calls • Advise clients and internal accounting team members on complex accounting matters and accounting decisions • Identify risks, opportunities, and compliance considerations to support client growth • Monitor client engagement health and identify opportunities for additional support, resources, or services • Partner cross-functionally to meet client needs professionally and promptly • Collaborate with Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, Bookkeepers, and CFOs to ensure accurate, timely, high-quality deliverables • Provide accounting guidance and subject matter expertise on complex client needs and financial matters • Support workflow coordination and prioritization with leadership • Share knowledge, best practices, and process improvements • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency while maintaining compliance • Contribute to training resources, process documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives • Participate in internal initiatives supporting strategic goals and evolving client needs • Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to improve client service delivery • Represent BELAY professionally in virtual and in-person interactions and support a collaborative team environment

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business • 6–8 years of progressive accounting experience • Strong Controller-level expertise, including explaining financial statements, interpreting KPIs, and understanding forecasts and budgets • Expertise in financial close processes and best practices • Proficiency with accounting and business platforms such as QuickBooks Online, Fathom, Shopify, Cin7, and Amazon • Experience advising small businesses in inventory-based retail/e-commerce, creative/project-based companies, or technology startups • Familiarity with accounting and tax methodology and small business economic trends • Demonstrated ability to manage utilization, staffing, and profitability • Strong leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills • Proven ability to inspire high-performing teams • Track record of exceptional client service and strategic guidance to small businesses and startups • Must reside in the Eastern or Central time zone • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Dedicated, distraction-free home office required • Availability during standard Monday–Friday business hours • California, New York, Illinois, and Oregon residents cannot currently be hired
