• Perform technical activities on assigned structural engineering projects, including technical studies, investigations, and designs • Design and prepare drawings for structural systems, including gravity and lateral loads, foundations, and framing plans • Calculate the size and orientation of structural members and components • Coordinate designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, civil, and other disciplines • Perform quality control reviews of structural drawings • Write and edit structural system specifications • Attend owner, client, and architect meetings and prepare meeting notes • Coordinate with local authorities and municipalities to ensure compliance with standards • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, clients, and client representatives to determine project scope • Perform engineering studies and design analyses • Mentor and direct Structural Designers • Conduct site surveys to determine existing facility conditions • Visit job sites during construction to monitor progress and conformance with designs, expectations, and building codes • Prepare punch lists and project observation reports • Prepare Proposal Requests and Supplemental Instructions and respond to Requests for Information • Review project submittals and approve or reject them based on drawings and specifications • Assist the project manager with budgets, cost estimates, schedules, contracts, and billing • Assist with quality assurance reviews for all disciplines • Handle complex issues under minimal supervision • Uphold TME's owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with a Structural Emphasis • Professional Engineer (PE) License • 4–6 years of Structural Engineering experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer • 3+ years' experience with Autodesk Revit BIM Software • Ability to design multi-story buildings • Ability to design steel, wood, and concrete framing systems; masonry load bearing walls; complex foundation systems; special moment frames; seismic wind load systems; and masonry and concrete shear walls • Ability to travel 5–10% of the time • Ability to work at a desk and on a computer for prolonged periods • Ability to climb stairs • Ability to kneel, stand, or sit for prolonged periods • Ability to perform repetitive wrist, hand, and finger motions • Ability to adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds
