• Oversee all aspects of the commissioning process, including functional performance testing, system balancing, and operational testing. • Develop and implement comprehensive commissioning strategies aligned with organizational goals and project requirements. • Establish commissioning standards and best practices across the company. • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders throughout the commissioning process. • Monitor commissioning activities for compliance with project specifications and industry standards. • Develop subordinate project managers and oversee subordinate development through performance evaluations, mentoring, formal training, and planned exposure to diverse work experiences. • Collaborate with general superintendents and the peer Director of Field Operations Commissioning on selection of general superintendents and site teams. • Manage wage reviews, work assignments, bonus reviews, internal promotions, and related functions. • Assist the Vice President in staying current on market conditions, including customers, competitors, subcontractors, commodities, construction processes and methods, and contracting methods. • Manage commissioning budgets and resource allocation. • Develop detailed commissioning plans and schedules for each project. • Pursue personal development, including obtaining state licensing certifications. • Communicate commissioning progress and findings to key decision-makers and escalate significant matters to executive leadership. • Implement quality control measures throughout the commissioning process.
• Four-year construction management, engineering or related degree. • Five or more years of directly relevant experience with utility-scale natural gas power generation, heavy industrial, or EPC field execution. • Strong understanding of construction engineering and design concepts. • Understanding of electrical construction and power delivery. • Conceptual skills and ability to develop thorough work plans and management schedule. • Knowledge of estimating strategies and techniques. • Expertise in relevant industry standards and regulations. • Excellent written presentation and verbal communication skills. • Strong leadership skills and ability to organize, utilize, and motivate team members quickly to respond to changes in the construction schedule. • Conflict management skills required. • Ability to strategically work within approved budget, conserve resources, and contribute to profits and revenue. • Excellent organizational, supervisory, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. • Computer skills required, including Microsoft Office suite programs, Primavera, and CTC net. • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required. • Extensive travel required. • Primary experience with reciprocating engine power plants, modular/skidded aeroderivative turbine installations, modular simple-cycle gas plants, and fuel cell power generation systems, including associated balance-of-plant, fuel gas systems, and interconnection scopes. • Experience with combined-cycle gas power generation, larger-frame simple-cycle power generation, midstream oil and gas infrastructure, and heavy industrial construction. • PMP Certification.
