📋 Description

• Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts for utility-scale gas power generation projects from early project development through handoff to construction • Manage estimating teams and review project scopes and technical requirements • Coordinate bid strategies and ensure estimates are accurate, competitive, and aligned with client expectations • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, project management, suppliers, subcontractors, and clients to evaluate risks, identify opportunities, and develop proposals • Oversee bid preparation and contract negotiations • Coordinate handoffs, vendor relationships, and project setup activities for transition from preconstruction to project execution • Drive continuous improvement of estimating processes, systems, and best practices • Mentor team members and support growth of Blattner’s gas power generation business • Develop department strategy and vision with regular reporting of relevant industry precedents and procedures • Support estimate planning, pre-bid meetings, schedule creation, proposal preparation, and Mega project review documents • Supervise and develop subordinates through mentoring, formal training, and diverse work experiences • Ensure project quality and safety requirements, training, PPE, and JHA risks are identified and included in estimates

🎯 Requirements

• 5 or more years of applicable preconstruction and/or construction experience or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience in estimating, project management, contract negotiations and sound construction methods, with an emphasis on safety and quality • Bachelor’s degree in construction related discipline • Experience supporting Gas Powered Generation (GPG) projects from development through construction • Strong understanding of preconstruction, estimating, procurement, and project handoff processes • Experience developing conceptual, budgetary, and detailed estimates for large-scale energy infrastructure projects
