📋 Description

• Manage the end-to-end purchasing cycle for key materials and equipment • Plan and execute purchase orders, determine transportation, execute lease agreements, expedite materials/equipment, and resolve quality and invoice issues • Ensure equipment and materials arrive at the lowest total cost while balancing quality, source reliability, and urgency • Partner with the Sourcing team on category strategies and supplier performance • Manage tactical purchasing activities for assigned categories and maintain vendor/customer relationships • Drive purchasing best practices across the team, company, and supply base • Plan, generate, adjust, and expedite purchase orders based on field requisitions, project insights, drawing take-offs, BOMs/BOEs, and inventory strategies • Track and monitor purchase orders, communicate problems, delays, impacts, and constraints to the Planner and Project Manager • Maintain supplier communications for on-time delivery, system data integrity, and ordering parameters • Work with SQE to resolve systemic supplier quality issues and address quantity, quality, delivery, warranty, and relationship issues • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives with internal teams and key suppliers • Control supplier assets, dispose of obsolete assets, and monitor asset age • Analyze and maintain purchasing and inventory data, including costs, lot sizes, reorder points, lead times, safety stock, and item classes • Create inventory and replenishment rules based on supply service-level analyses • Identify at-risk materials/equipment and recommend expediting, supplier changes, or transportation alternatives • Lead development and implementation of system/process enhancements, performance standards, KPIs, reports, and analytics • Review, audit, and support purchasing parameters across categories • Collaborate across the organization to improve and resolve material and equipment needs • Communicate supplier pricing and availability changes affecting high-impact materials to supply chain management • Identify opportunities to streamline work and reduce waste • Perform additional assignments as directed by the supervisor

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance or related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience • APICS or other certifications such as CPP, CSCP, CPIM or CPPM preferred • 7+ Years of experience in purchasing, planning or related Supply Chain function required • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, particularly in purchasing, supply planning and contracts • Leadership ability with superior analytical tools, exceptional presentation, oral and written communication skills; can effectively interact with all levels of management • Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel • Must be able to maintain confidentiality • Initiative, planning, organizational and prioritization skills with a high commitment to meeting schedules • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time • Strategic, analytical, organizational and negotiating skills, with ability to synthesize and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data • Deep understanding of supply/commodity markets • Must have valid driver’s license and ability to maintain an acceptable driving record in order to travel as needed • Travel estimated at 25% • Blattner is not able to sponsor H-1B visas or permanent residency; candidates must hold valid, independent work authorization
