• Teach online Early Childhood Education courses • Deliver and facilitate instruction according to the signed contract, course syllabus, and published course catalog • Meet all scheduled classes, labs, and clinics for the entire allotted time • Use teaching methods and media suited to students with varying educational and experiential backgrounds • Provide course syllabi with measurable objectives, grading criteria, prerequisites, student responsibilities, sequencing, and assignments • Assess student mastery and provide continual feedback to students and the Assessment Coordinator • Maintain and submit required records by prescribed deadlines • Implement the college’s Assessment of Student Learning Program • Recommend reference and instructional materials to the Department Chair and college library • Plan and prepare courses, provide instruction, advise students, and maintain general office hours • Use BMCC administrative student management software and MOODLE for classroom management and student advising • Follow college procedures and submit required documentation for absences, complaints, and academic dishonesty violations • Collaborate with the Department Chair on assessment and classroom-based research • Assist with curriculum development and refinement as needed • Work under the direction of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the respective Department Chair
• Minimum required credential is a BA/BS in Early Childhood Education or a BA/BS in a child related field with 18 credits in early childhood education • At least 2 years of work experience in the early childhood education field • 480 hours of classroom experience • Experience in curriculum development and instructing students individually and in groups • Knowledge or experience in alternative teaching strategies such as group projects, hands-on learning, practical applications, computer assisted instruction, distance learning or team-teaching • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Proven ability to work collaboratively with others • Knowledge or experience working with people of diverse backgrounds, abilities, and needs • Experience working and/or teaching in Tribal communities preferred, specifically at a tribal college • Unofficial transcripts for all earned degrees; official transcripts required at time of offer • At least three professional references
