📋 Description

• Partner with Planning & Preconstruction to integrate interior design into facility programming and space planning • Translate clinical, operational, and workflow requirements into interior planning strategies and design criteria • Support functional programming, space standards development, planning narratives, and room typologies • Ensure interior design concepts align with project scope, budget, and phasing strategies • Lead development, governance, and continuous improvement of system-wide interior finish and environment standards • Serve as subject matter expert for material performance, application, and standardization • Guide external architects and interior designers to align with planning intent and system standards • Review design deliverables for programming alignment, standards compliance, cost, and constructability • Participate in design charrettes, kick-offs, and milestone reviews • Provide strategic oversight of FF&E, artwork programs, and signage and wayfinding systems • Guide prototypes and repeatable solutions for system-wide deployment • Develop conceptual budgets for interiors and FAS and validate cost benchmark alignment • Identify standardization, value optimization, and bulk purchasing opportunities • Contribute to preconstruction decision-making and estimating inputs • Develop and manage budgets for interior finishes and FAS packages • Define bid packages and scopes and support vendor selection and evaluation • Coordinate with purchasing strategies and group purchasing organizations • Directly supervise interior design staff • Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and workload prioritization • Establish workflows integrating design staff with planning teams, project management, and external consultants • Serve as primary liaison across planning, preconstruction, design and construction, clinical and operational, brand, compliance, and facilities teams • Facilitate decisions balancing user experience, operational efficiency, cost, and constructability

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design or related field (Required) • 8–12+ years of combined experience in architectural planning/programming or interior design within healthcare or complex commercial environments (Preferred) • Demonstrated experience integrating planning, design standards, and project delivery (Preferred) • Experience working within or alongside design & construction / preconstruction teams (Preferred) • Experience overseeing design consultants and mentoring staff (Preferred) • Strong expertise in facility planning, programming, and space typologies • Deep understanding of interior materials, finishes, and FF&E systems • Ability to connect design decisions to cost, operations, and lifecycle performance • Proficiency in interpreting drawings, specifications, and planning documents • Strong financial and cost-awareness mindset • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe, and MS Office • Professional licensure or certification such as Registered Architect or NCIDQ (Preferred) • Ability to work Eastern Time Zone business hours
