📋 Description

• Design simple process-mechanical elements for environmental infrastructure projects • Prepare calculations for sizing and selecting piping, equipment, and piping ancillaries • Coordinate interdisciplinary teams including architects, structural engineers, electrical and instrumentation and controls engineers, and building-mechanical engineers • Develop final design drawings and specifications for process-mechanical elements • Guide BIM professionals in creating 3D models and construction contract documents • Review construction-phase submittals for adherence to project specifications • Respond to contractor requests for information • Perform site observations during construction • Support conceptual, preliminary, and final design phases • Provide construction-phase support for process-mechanical elements • Adapt and execute additional assignments based on evolving needs • May mentor, guide, support, and share knowledge with less experienced team members

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required • Engineer in Training (EIT) License • Minimum of 2 years of process mechanical engineering or related experience • Experience coordinating with interdisciplinary teams • Proficient use of word processing and spreadsheet-based software tools • Intermediate understanding of process mechanical engineering principles and practices • Intermediate analytical skills in evaluating and designing processes for infrastructure projects • Basic use of process-mechanical software analysis tools • Ability to work well with interdisciplinary teams • Basic understanding of the construction process for environmental infrastructure projects • Subject to a pre-employment background check and pre-employment drug test • Preferred: 4+ years of process mechanical engineering or related experience • Preferred: Design experience with pumping, water and wastewater treatment equipment, aeration and plant air compressor/blowers, piping system design, pressure control/relief, and technical specifications • Preferred: Strong project or task management skills • Preferred: Successful technical writing skills • Preferred: Knowledge of AFT Fathom and Visual Hydraulics • Preferred: Experience with BIM collaboration tools (BIM 360 and Navisworks)
