• Manage cardiovascular-related accreditation activities for the Market • Manage a quality data abstraction team • Oversee data abstraction positions and interface with QCentrix to populate and present required quarterly reports • Maintain cardiovascular program documentation for compliance, accreditation, and quality performance • Ensure accurate documentation of quality initiatives according to accrediting-body standards and templates • Facilitate quality reporting updates to physicians and hospital leadership teams • Gather and document cardiovascular improvement program activities • Collaborate with the quality department to track annual outcomes and participate in special studies • Oversee quality improvement initiatives supporting Heart and Vascular Service Line performance • Lead policy and procedure development, revision, and implementation • Support physicians with cardiovascular quality performance, patient selection for discussions, registry preparation, and abstraction documentation • Track accreditation compliance and report quarterly updates to committees • Recommend corrective action when activity falls below annual goals or requirements • Serve as a professional role model, mentor, and subject matter expert • Conduct monthly physician compliance audits and submit Synoptic Operative Standards reports • Attend educational activities to maintain knowledge of current guidelines, standards, and coding rules
• Current Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) certification required • Two-year associate degree in a major meeting NCRA requirements required • Four-year bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related major preferred • Minimum of three years of experience as a Cardiovascular Data Specialist required • Training in anatomy, physiology, disease processes, cardiovascular diagnosis, medical terminology, electronic health records, healthcare applications, cardiac registry data analysis, and statistical reporting • Analytical skills • Self-motivation and self-directed work style • Written and verbal communication • Time management • Administrative planning • Quality control • Meeting minutes and documentation • Training, mentoring, and coaching • Research • Workforce management/productivity • Ability to travel by car to off-site locations occasionally • Long-distance or air travel as needed, not to exceed 10%
