📋 Description

• Support mission-critical server and Azure compute environments as part of a server engineering team • Support Bunzl’s business areas by maximizing effective data processing, communications, server resources, and business processes • Develop and implement Microsoft 365, Azure, and Windows Server governance and policy • Drive technical process improvements and technology roadmaps • Define improvements to existing environments, design future architectures, and refine information architecture • Administer and troubleshoot objects, groups, and policies in Microsoft Active Directory and Entra ID hybrid environments • Organize AD user accounts and server objects through organizational units and GPOs • Manage Entra ID users, groups, and conditional access policies • Maintain and troubleshoot on-premises and Azure-hosted Windows Server virtual machines • Administer a hybrid Exchange environment, including mail routing, synchronization, and mail tracing • Design, implement, and maintain automated server operating-system patch-management workflows • Track incidents and self-manage projects in a timely manner • Engineer and implement new Microsoft 365, Azure, and related Microsoft technologies • Provide technical leadership to the department • Contribute to cloud strategies and modernization across Microsoft 365 and Azure • Develop technical integration plans for business acquisitions • Develop and present training for Infrastructure operations teams • Research, develop, and maintain server security aligned with business standards and industry best practices • Research, develop, and test new software solutions • Participate in periodic disaster-recovery drills during non-business hours • Evaluate, design, and architect server system solutions for emerging business requirements • Create and maintain policies and architectural documentation • Participate in a periodic 24/7 on-call rotation for critical server-system support issues

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, or work experience preferred • Expert knowledge and troubleshooting skills with Windows Server, Azure, M365, and related technologies • Working experience with Microsoft Active Directory, GPOs, and related technologies • Ability to deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments from 2016 through 2025 across physical and virtual infrastructures • Ability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot DNS resolution, DHCP scope management, and TLS/SSL certificate lifecycles • PowerShell scripting skills • Knowledge of standard system health monitoring and endpoint detection tools • Ability to design, execute, and maintain server backup strategies and disaster recovery procedures • Experience administering Microsoft Exchange in a hybrid configuration with Exchange Online • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and requirements • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities • Customer-service-oriented approach • Ability to create reports for management and business users • Willingness to adapt to occasional travel and after-hours work requirements • Effective verbal and written communication • Ability to participate in a periodic 24/7 on-call rotation
