📋 Description

• Administer and maintain database systems supporting AAO applications • Work with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL platforms • Support database design, development, and integration • Install, configure, upgrade, migrate, provision, secure, patch, back up, and recover enterprise database systems • Support mission-critical database management systems • Apply ANSI Standard SQL constructs for database administration • Work with High Availability and Disaster Recovery database architectures • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems with other DBAs • Support client/server database networking environments • Develop automation using PowerShell, VBScript, batch files, Unix, or other scripting languages • Participate in on-call DBA rotation and respond to trouble tickets according to SLAs • Engage with Enterprise Applications stakeholders and end-user communities across NASA

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum clearance required to start: Public Trust • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation • Preferred experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL databases in single instance or clustered configurations • Experience configuring and supporting MS SQL Availability Groups (AGs), Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs), Oracle Data Guard, and MySQL master-slave replication • Demonstrated experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, MS T-SQL • Knowledgeable in configuring Oracle Net Services • Familiarity and/or experience with Oracle RMAN, DataPump, and Data Guard • Experience with Red Hat Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems on VMware • Understanding of database consolidation and virtualization concepts and best practices • Level 1: BA/BS + 2 years recent specialized OR AA/AS + 2 years recent specialized OR a major cert + 3 years recent specialized OR 3 years recent specialized experience • Level 2: Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree • Level 2: 4-6 years Database Administrator experience • Level 3: Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree • Level 3: 6-8 years Database Administrator experience • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files • Experience working in VMware ESXi environments • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS) • Experience with enterprise backup solutions (Level 1 and Level 3) • Schedule flexibility to support on-call DBA rotation and respond to trouble tickets within SLA requirements • Strong communication, presentation, documentation, organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and team environment
