📋 Description

• Administer and maintain database systems supporting AAO applications • Work with Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL platforms • Modernize and transform enterprise business solutions for NASA • Engage with Enterprise Applications stakeholders and end-user communities • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database problems with other DBAs • Support on-call DBA rotation and respond to trouble tickets within required SLAs

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum clearance required to start: Public Trust • Must be able to obtain and maintain a NASA Public Trust background investigation • Preferred experience with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL or PostgreSQL databases in single instance or clustered configurations • Experience configuring and supporting MS SQL Availability Groups (AGs), Distributed Availability Groups (DAGs), Oracle Data Guard, and MySQL master-slave replication • Demonstrated experience using Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, MS T-SQL • Knowledgeable in configuring Oracle Net Services • Familiarity and/or experience with Oracle RMAN, DataPump, and Data Guard • Experience with Red Hat Linux and MS Windows Operating Systems on VMware • Understanding of database consolidation and virtualization concepts and best practices • Level 1: BA/BS + 2 years recent specialized, AA/AS + 2 years recent specialized, a major cert + 3 years recent specialized, or 3 years recent specialized experience • Level 2: Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree; 4–6 years Database Administrator experience • Level 3: Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of degree; 6–8 years Database Administrator experience • Automation using Microsoft PowerShell, VBScript, or batch files • Experience working in VMware ESXi environments • Experience with network storage (SAN/NAS) • Experience with enterprise backup solutions • Solid knowledge in database design, development and integration principles • Fundamental knowledge of database administration best practices and techniques • Experience supporting mission critical database management systems • Understanding of ANSI Standard SQL constructs for Database Administration • Experience installing, configuring, upgrading, migrating, provisioning, securing, patching, backing up and recovering enterprise database systems • Conceptual knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery database architectures • Good understanding of networking concepts and principles in a client/server database environment • Experience in Unix, PowerShell or other scripting language • Good communication, presentation, documentation and organizational skills • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills • Schedule flexibility to support on-call DBA rotation and respond to trouble tickets within SLA requirements
