📋 Description

• Support strategic priorities for Consumer and Developer Experience as part of the product strategy team • Partner with software engineers, business analysts, and product managers to deliver customer-focused products and business impact • Tackle strategic and analytical questions and deliver insights that influence business decisions • Develop prototypes and partner with product and engineering teams to translate concepts into scaled digital experiences • Leverage Python, Conda, AWS, H2O, Spark, and other technologies to analyze large volumes of numeric and textual data • Build machine learning models through design, training, evaluation, validation, and implementation • Translate complex data science work into tangible business goals • Research and evaluate emerging technologies and apply state-of-the-art methods • Challenge conventional thinking and identify improvements with stakeholders • Develop talent within the team and beyond

🎯 Requirements

• Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a required degree by the scheduled start date • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field plus 9 years of experience performing data analytics; or Master's degree in a quantitative field or MBA with a quantitative concentration plus 7 years; or PhD in a quantitative field plus 4 years • At least 4 years of experience leveraging open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis • At least 4 years of experience working with machine learning • At least 4 years of experience utilizing relational databases • Hands-on experience developing data science solutions using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms • Experience with clustering, classification, sentiment analysis, time series, and deep learning • Experience building, validating, and backtesting models; interpreting confusion matrices and ROC curves • Preferred: PhD in STEM plus 5 years of experience in data analytics • Preferred: at least 1 year of experience with AWS • Preferred: at least 3 years of experience managing people • Preferred: at least 5 years of experience in Python, Scala, or R for large-scale data analysis • Preferred: at least 5 years of experience with machine learning • Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization
