The organization advocates for mandatory product carbon intensity standards, aims to align market incentives with emissions-reducing actions, and convenes governments, standard-setters, scientists, and companies to deliver technically credible, actionable solutions grounded in sound science and financial accounting principles.

📋 Description

• Overseeing both the financial and operational functions of a non-profit business association • Ensuring financial sustainability, compliance, and strategic growth • Optimizing organizational effectiveness and service delivery • Managing the billing, collection, and recognition of member dues, which is the primary revenue source • Developing and managing the annual operating budget, including forecasting revenue • Partnering with the CEO to shape long-term business strategy and execute organizational initiatives • Translating the board's strategic plan into actionable operational goals and workflows • Leading the organization through transitions, whether technological, operational, or strategic • Distilling complex information into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders, including the board of directors and employees • Promoting a positive organizational culture and staff development • Reports to the CEO and works closely with the executive leadership team and Management Advisory Committee

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required • Master’s degree (MBA, or equivalent) preferred • Certified Public Accountant preferred • 10+ years in senior financial and operational roles, ideally in non-profit settings • Experience as a VP of Finance, Finance Director, or Controller • Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and capital structure decisions • Experience managing relationships with bankers, auditors, and board members • Experience leading high-performing teams under pressure and resolving internal organizational conflicts • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to partner effectively with the CEO, executive leadership team and Board • Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting, regulatory compliance, and best operational practices • Sustainability experience preferred
