• Work with users and leadership to develop or modify procedures following workflow process changes related to Epic clinical and business application use • Explain assigned Epic applications and related systems to users • Assist users with using the full functionality of applications • Prepare requirements-definition input, including user procedures, flowcharts, preliminary reports, and screen definitions • Assist with unit, integration, system, and end-user acceptance testing; execute tests and track problem reports • Prioritize, review, and clarify user requests with users and team members • Assist with impact analysis • Document workflows, specifications, user manuals, procedures, and related information • Complete change and quality-control documentation using department standards • Participate in testing, user training, and results evaluation • Track standardized projects and keep users and management informed about progress and potential delays • Monitor and document post-implementation problems and revision requests • Identify ongoing application-system issues and communicate patterns to Senior/Lead Application Product Analysts • Maintain product documentation, including requirements, functional specifications, installation instructions, test procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines • Communicate project status and upgrades to clinic users, including potential delays or downtime • Develop and maintain knowledge of clinical/laboratory and business operations supporting Epic applications • Assist with scheduling and managing application-version upgrades • Participate in maintenance, enhancement, and interfacing of assigned applications • Troubleshoot and resolve user problems
• Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Computer Science or related field • Typically requires 1 year of experience in automated laboratory and/or business systems • Obtain EPIC certification(s) within 6 months and maintain annual educational requirements as required by the department • Basic knowledge of computer operating platforms, application software, and network software • Analytical skills to make recommendations based on data analysis and business needs • Ability to translate user requirements into system specifications • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access) or similar products • Basic knowledge of large-scale automated systems • Ability to prepare, import, and manipulate information in spreadsheets and databases • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate technically and in a business-friendly manner • Basic knowledge of project-management software, tools, and methodologies • Knowledge of and ability to follow change-management processes • Ability to work and communicate with clinical and technical customers, vendors, peers, and management • Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and complete assignments thoroughly and on time • Ability to perform work-related travel • Ability to operate all equipment necessary for the job • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally
