📋 Description

• Work remotely to review, verify, and counsel on Meds to Go prescriptions in Illinois • Assist with hospital communication and education • Provide verification and consultation for Medifriend locations and Wisconsin RD pharmacies • Oversee pharmaceutical care, including retrieving and evaluating biomedical literature and designing medication therapy regimens • Counsel patients and caregivers on medication therapy, adverse effects, compliance, appropriate use, handling, and administration • Design, recommend, monitor, and evaluate patient-specific pharmacotherapeutic regimens • Review and accurately interpret medication orders and prescriptions • Participate in medical emergencies when applicable • Support medication safety and quality improvement activities, including event reporting • Perform quality assurance and performance improvement of the medication-use system • Collaborate with the healthcare team on formulary adherence and the medication-use process • Assist with non-formulary, compassionate-use, and investigational medications • Prepare, dispense, and oversee proper medication storage and handling • Serve as preceptor for pharmacy students, residents, and healthcare learners • Mentor, orient, train, and assist with performance evaluations of pharmacy teammates, residents, and students • Direct and check pharmacy support team work for safe, efficient, compliant workflows • Provide age-appropriate patient care based on growth, development, and patient-status data

🎯 Requirements

• Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity required • Immunization and non-vaccine injectable certification required based on area of practice • Credentialing and privileging required based on area of practice • Bachelor’s or Doctorate degree in pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy required, or an FPGEC certificate from NABP • No experience required • Maintains skills in area of practice • Strong computer skills • Excellent communication and organization skills • Excellent presentation, facilitation, and training development skills • Decision making, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution skills • Life support training courses may be required dependent on department discretion • Must be licensed in both Illinois and Wisconsin • Ability to work 1st and 2nd shifts and weekends • Ability to meet physical requirements including walking, standing, pushing up to 50 pounds, and lifting 35 pounds • Ability to use pharmacy, computer, and automated dispensing equipment • Functional speech, vision, and hearing
