• Manage the professional development needs of schools and BEC partners within the region • Recruit, manage, coach, develop, and mentor the regional consultant team • Provide consultation and develop content for internal and external training for BEC programs and related topics • Develop annual plans for professional development meetings and trainings • Provide competitive feedback on supplemental and core products • Maintain communication between consultants and the national team regarding product successes and challenges • Use data and performance metrics to inform staffing strategies and department goals • Respond to RFPs related to professional development and product scopes of work as needed • Collaborate with the Pilot Manager on pilot strategies, plans, and expectations • Plan district professional development for implementation and follow-up, manage expectations, and ensure satisfaction • Monitor customer expectations and professional development implementation results • Create sales presentations and customer-facing implementation and follow-up training content • Develop solutions for complex client situations • Train Regional Consultants and Per Diems on sales messages, product implementation, and competition • Deliver sales presentations and implementation trainings as needed • Interview full-time consultant and regional Per Diem candidates • Observe and mentor consultant presentations • Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and plan consultant goals • Observe direct reports in the field twice annually • Oversee calendared assignment submissions and approve regional consultant expenses • Conduct practice presentations and foster team learning • Attend regular meetings with other PD Regional Consultant Managers • Communicate with Regional Vice Presidents and keep regional teams informed of product updates, company decisions, marketing trends, materials, and competition • Work with schedulers on assignment decisions and provide conference presenter recommendations • Collaborate with the RVP and Senior Director of Professional Development to ensure smooth PD operations
• Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred • Minimum 3 years of elementary teaching experience • Teaching experience in Comprehensive Literacy, Science of Reading Research, Intervention Work, or English Language Learner Support • Minimum 3–5 years of professional development experience • Demonstrated experience using high-quality adult learning practices • Proficiency with multiple software, platforms, and devices • Ability to build strong relationships with sales team members • Ability to develop rapport with an audience and respond strategically to audience questions • Communication technology skills, including current computer software, word processing, online browsers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, and online web-based tools • Familiarity with state standards across the dedicated region and educational technology best practices • Superior communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills; ability to present to large audiences and key decision-making stakeholders in sales situations • Ability to work successfully in a cross-functional environment • Ability to remain neutral and constructive when faced with customer concerns; well organized and collaborative • Must travel overnight often, up to 50–60% overnight • Must lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly • Must have a valid driver's license • Must live near a major metropolitan airport • Must live in the region of the job position territory • Previous curriculum development experience desired • Classroom experience teaching with BEC products desired • Bilingual/biliterate desired
