📋 Description

• Schedule Medical Imaging appointments through inbound and outbound telephone calls or in person • Provide outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment • Observe quality, productivity, and other key performance indicators • Perform clerical procedures using computers and other equipment • Learn and apply scheduling procedures and patient preparation instructions • Assist physician office staff with scheduling issues • Schedule Cardiopulmonary and echocardiogram procedures • Manage electronic and paper orders in Medical Imaging schedule work queues • Obtain, verify, and update patient demographic and insurance information • Verify payors and insurance eligibility • Ensure accurate data entry and correct errors • Handle emergent situations, solve problems, and escalate issues as necessary • Interact professionally with patients, coworkers, and referring office staff • Orient new employees and document training • Assist other Scheduling areas and the interview process when requested • Perform other duties as assigned • Comply with Wellstar policies, standards of work, and code of conduct

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or medical scheduling • Strong customer service skills • Good communication and organizational skills • Basic typing and data entry experience • Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written English • Basic insurance carrier and pre-certification knowledge preferred • Computer skills preferred • Medical Terminology preferred • High attention to detail and low error rate • Regular, reliable attendance • Flexibility with work hours to meet department needs • Ability to type accurately and input data into scheduling software • Knowledge of Medical Imaging exams, modalities, patient preps, and instructions • Knowledge of diagnosis codes and ICD-9/ICD-10 codes • Knowledge of insurance programs, Medicare guidelines, medical necessity checks, and pre-authorization/referrals • Knowledge of EMR, fax, email, Image Now, and Trace • Must maintain department dress code and professional appearance
