📋 Description

• Organize and implement transdisciplinary STEAM programs and initiatives in West Virginia schools • Assist in developing and implementing high-quality instructional STEAM programming • Collaborate with the West Virginia Department of Education, West Virginia University, West Virginia Department of Commerce, and other agencies • Analyze performance of current STEAM programs and develop professional development programming • Support technology and computer science implementation in West Virginia schools • Support teachers integrating technology into classroom instruction and projects • Establish connections with business partners to promote career awareness focused on STEAM • Organize, coordinate, and implement professional learning activities with public and private agencies • Assist in developing grades 6-12 STEAM online video lessons and instructional resources • Work with public school educators, higher education, county personnel, and state/local agencies • Communicate, market, and evaluate STEAM initiatives with local school districts • Handle correspondence with teachers and schools related to STEAM initiatives • Research and resolve state/local initiative-related issues • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in education, science, mathematics, career technical education, or a related field of study • Minimum of five (5) years of teaching experience in science, mathematics, career technical education, or a related field • Experience writing, developing, and integrating STEAM lessons aligned to WV standards and policies through in-person demonstrations, online platforms, and/or virtual showcases • Knowledge of current practices in instructional technologies, computer science instruction, and career and technical education practices preferred • Experience developing, conducting, and monitoring professional learning programs • Evidence of skills required to lead public initiatives involving collaboration with public and private entities related to STEAM • Ability to schedule, organize, and perform multiple assignments with minimum supervision • Leadership skills and ability to foster collaborative team relationships • Valid driver license permitting the applicant to drive a state-owned vehicle • Willingness to travel • Valid West Virginia teaching certification in science, mathematics, or career technical education; or valid West Virginia secondary teaching certification with demonstrated experience in classroom technology integration • Comprehensive knowledge of grades 6-12 STEAM pedagogy and current grades 6-12 STEAM transdisciplinary practices • Demonstrated experience establishing and coordinating joint relationships with businesses and educational agencies • Must reside in or near Wayne, Lincoln, Putnam, Cabell, Kanawha, Mason, Jackson, Roane, Clay, Calhoun, Gilmer, Braxton, Webster, or Pocahontas counties
