📋 Description

• Interpret physicians’ prescriptions and compound and dispense medications within regulatory guidelines • Dispense inpatient and outpatient medications and verify prescriptions according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements • Consult with patients regarding medications, supplies, dosage, frequency, specialized requirements, and potential drug interactions • Answer patient questions and resolve prescription concerns • Review and evaluate patient care plans for obvious conflicts • Manage hiring, termination, and performance management for pharmacy technicians • Monitor staff performance and compliance with policies and dispensing processes • Maintain quality assurance, controlled-substance security, and record-keeping procedures • Recommend operating-procedure changes to the manager • Verify unit-dose orders, enter orders, and verify IV admixtures • Provide technical guidance to pharmacy technicians • Respond to escalated customer inquiries, requests, and issues • Consult on pharmaceutical matters with personnel regarding pharmacy operations • Review daily reporting and pharmacy-technician schedules, including leave and holiday time • Ensure customer files and contacts are updated for compliance • Lead department meetings and in-service training for pharmacy technicians • Perform related duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must live in either Texas or Kentucky • Broad training generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education • Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy • Minimum of eight (8) years of directly related and progressively responsible experience • Unrestricted, current state license as a Registered Pharmacist in resident state • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing • Ability to work quickly and accurately under time and volume constraints • Strong leadership skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively • Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services and drug interactions • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Good analytical skills • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook • Ability to deal with stressful situations • Must be flexible on schedule and hours • Some travel may be required
