• Maintain and retrieve records according to protocol to support regulatory requirements, document reviews, and audits • Coordinate and communicate with records management • Maintain confidential and time-sensitive materials • Review provider credentialing applications and verify requirements to begin the credentialing process • Enter and maintain accurate, complete provider information in databases • Communicate with departments to ensure records follow workflows • Communicate with providers about applications by telephone and in writing • Maintain application records and credentialing approval letters • Maintain the credentialing system • Conduct quality audits of credentialing files • Run reports to support the Credentialing team • Assist with verification of healthcare professionals' information using external verification sources • Assist Credential Specialists with team goals and deadlines • Assist with internal and external audit preparation • Perform annual and ongoing document reviews • Create job aids as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience in health plan credentialing, a medical office, high-production word processing, or work requiring regular use of Access or other databases • Preferred experience with SharePoint • Preferred knowledge of medical terminology • Basic knowledge of quality assurance and/or compliance • Knowledge of or ability to learn the provider credentialing process • Knowledge of or ability to learn document management systems • Ability to retain and maintain confidential files • Strong organizational skills • Competency with word processing • Competency with spreadsheet and database management • Demonstrated personal initiative and good judgment • Effective written and verbal communication • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to manage multiple tasks • Ability to work confidentially with provider information • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups • Ability to learn, focus, understand, and evaluate information and determine appropriate actions • Ability to accept direction and feedback and manage stress • Ability to see, read, and perform repetitive finger and wrist movements for at least 6 hours per day • Ability to hear and speak clearly for at least 3–6 hours per day
