📋 Description

• Influence policy changes and build strategic relationships to ensure Bay Area charter school members gain equitable access to resources and support • Engage with local elected officials and stakeholders • Drive school advocacy campaigns • Build and maintain relationships with authorizers, charter school leaders, community partners, district staff, and elected officials • Organize meetings, training sessions, and webinars for charter school members • Serve as the primary point of contact for charter schools, addressing concerns and providing advocacy and policy guidance • Create, support, and distribute communications such as newsletters • Prepare for meetings with charter leaders and school visits • Track meeting and conversation notes, member communications, local votes, contact points, and meetings in Salesforce • Coordinate grassroots efforts and mobilize community support • Address charter-related policy issues within priority school districts and county education offices • Develop and implement advocacy campaigns addressing local issues and supporting charter school renewals • Advocate for equitable access to facilities, funding, technology, and transparent oversight • Engage local leaders in policy priorities and advocacy strategy discussions • Support legislative advocacy and engage members to obtain their support • Support campaign efforts at local and state levels for CCSA Advocates • Collaborate with local advocacy and cross-team functions on organizational goals • Support public relations and creative services by elevating member stories for media amplification • Contribute to strategic planning for the Northern California local advocacy team • Support CCSA-sponsored events, including the annual Charter Schools Conference • Track advocacy progress, outcomes, metrics, and successes • Evaluate advocacy strategies and recommend improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public education, public policy, advocacy, or a related field • Strong communication and public speaking skills • Relationship-building skills that instill trust • Deep understanding of the local educational landscape • Excellent organizational and project management skills • Must reside or be willing to relocate to the Bay Area Region, California • Ability to travel and reliable transportation • Travel throughout the region for internal and external meetings, school visits and board meetings, including overnight travel for staff retreats, conferences and other CCSA-related activities, about 30% of the time • Schedule may include occasional evenings and weekends based on organizational needs • Submit a cover letter answering the specified application questions
