📋 Description

• Drive and coordinate the end-to-end external audit lifecycle from planning through closure • Respond to external requests for information required for regulatory filings • Manage compliance reporting responsibilities and respond to state and federal regulatory agency inquiries • Serve as the primary liaison between internal partners, delivery teams, and external auditors • Lead calls and working sessions to gather, clarify, and document audit and business requirements • Present audit requirements, status updates, risks, issues, and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders • Manage multiple external audits simultaneously while balancing competing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder needs • Coordinate cross-functional activities to ensure alignment, timely execution, and issue resolution • Track audit progress, dependencies, milestones, and deliverables; identify, escalate, and mitigate risks and blockers • Ensure audit deliverables meet requirements, regulatory expectations, and quality standards • Maintain documentation, audit evidence, and communications throughout the audit lifecycle • Travel for state audits

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related legal field or equivalent experience • 3+ years of related experience in compliance privacy and/or regulatory affairs • Experience in project management • Working knowledge of laws and regulations in compliance, particularly HIPAA and state regulations • Proven ability to drive end-to-end external audits from planning through execution to closure • Strong understanding of CMS and state Medicaid regulatory and quality standards • Ability to lead calls with senior leadership, external auditors, and cross-functional teams • Experience managing multiple audits simultaneously with competing priorities • Meticulous maintenance of audit evidence and milestone tracking • Ability to ensure deliverables meet agreed-upon requirements and standards • Ability to travel for state audits • Master’s or Juris Doctorate degree preferred and may be considered in lieu of experience
