• Participate in a small team of 2–5 business analysts supporting planning, design, development, and launch of business, financial, and operations systems • Gather and analyze data supporting business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements • Support Underwriting, Claims, and Billing & Collections business units within the Surplus & Specialty Lines Digital Services team • Meet with business stakeholders to identify goals, objectives, priorities, system requirements, and existing issues • Participate in roadmap planning • Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders on planning, design, development, and deployment of applications and enhancements • Facilitate or lead design sessions to prototype systems and improve business processes and information flow • Review user experience effectiveness and efficiency and develop improvement strategies • Establish and manage systems-analysis scope and parameters, outcomes, and action plans • Research third-party software for purchase-versus-build decisions • Analyze operating-system and process issues and recommend solutions or alternatives • Establish and manage project timelines, delivery milestones, and communication plans • Provide systems models, requirement specifications, diagrams, and charts to development and quality-assurance teams • Track and manage issues, probable causes, and viable solutions • Ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems • Coordinate quality assurance, performance, end-user acceptance, and post-implementation testing and support • Provide documentation, training materials, orientation, and training to end users
• Bachelor’s degree • Minimum of 5+ years of specialized experience working in a Business Analyst capacity supporting policy systems such as Duck Creek • Extensive experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of insurance software solutions, systems, or products supporting underwriting, financial, or claims application systems • Good understanding of the property and casualty insurance domain, preferably Commercial or Specialty Insurance • Prior Binding Authority underwriting experience is strongly preferred • Strong knowledge of Duck Creek Policy or similar platforms • Experience delivering end-to-end insurance product implementations and enhancements • Demonstrated project management skills • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives • Excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills • Logical and efficient with keen attention to detail • Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language • Highly self-motivated and directed • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment • Strong customer service orientation • Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
