📋 Description

• Lead and manage the Container Product Engineering team of about fifteen engineers • Set clear goals, manage performance, and run a healthy operating cadence • Organize the team into small sub-teams of two to four engineers with clear project ownership • Coach Staff and Principal engineers, give feedback, build career paths, address underperformance, and partner with Recruiting on hiring • Partner with Product Managers and Technical Program Manager to turn requirements into outcomes and projects • Require requirements and design documents before cycles and protect the team from mid-cycle churn • Review designs and pull requests and make or assign final decisions on contested technical issues • Read code, review pull requests, and ship occasionally • Lead adoption of agentic coding tools across design, implementation, review, and operations with safety guardrails • Plan work and headcount, commit to dates, report status, and escalate risks • Collaborate with Guarded OS, Customer Platform, Developer Platform, Sales, Customer Success, Support, and customers • Take on broader scope across the Containers organization as the product and team grow

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years managing engineering teams that build customer-facing products • Experience leading senior engineers, including Staff and Principal level, on a team of ten or more • Experience shipping features to paying customers at a hyper-growth company • Ability to turn ambiguous product goals into concrete technical plans • Strategic thinking and ability to scale with a product in hyper-growth • Experience planning capacity and headcount ahead of need and aligning technical work with business objectives • Hands-on, organized, action-biased approach • Experience reading code and reviewing pull requests • Clear and early communication, upward and outward • Track record of hiring, coaching, promoting, retaining strong engineers, and handling underperformance directly • Daily use of agentic coding tools and experience leading a team to change how it works because of them • Technical fluency with containers, container registries, OCI image format, Kubernetes, Go services, and cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS • Linux distribution or packaging experience is a plus • Experience leading a distributed, remote-first team across North America and Europe • Excellent written communication • North America or the United Kingdom preferred
