📋 Description

• Lead the team behind NodeZero Tripwires • Own the delivery strategy for decoy and deception development, detection, alerting, and the customer-facing experience • Partner with Product to sequence the roadmap and expand Tripwires coverage • Recruit, mentor, and retain engineers focused on distributed systems and security • Oversee design of tripwire types that attract attackers and resemble legitimate assets • Invest in SLOs, observability, on-call, and incident response • Partner with the Attack team to translate offensive findings into detection coverage • Establish design reviews, technical writing, clear API contracts, and durable decision records • Stay close to technical details while supporting a substantial data platform rebuild

🎯 Requirements

• Experience managing backend, data, or platform engineering teams, with a track record of shipping through the team • Solid fundamentals in backend and distributed systems, including data modeling, API design, queues/streams, and batch versus streaming tradeoffs • Comfort with modern cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS • Experience with containers and observability tooling such as Datadog or similar • Ability to lead through technical ambiguity and facilitate design discussions • Clear written communication for roadmaps, design documents, and postmortems • Ownership of day-to-day team operations • Working knowledge of deception technology, including honeypots, honeytokens, and canaries • Nice to have: exposure to event-driven architectures or streaming platforms such as Kafka, Pulsar, Kinesis, or Flink • Nice to have: understanding of credential access, lateral movement, and privilege escalation • Nice to have: background in cybersecurity, pentesting, or vulnerability management • Nice to have: familiarity with Python and/or Go • Authorization to work in the United States is requested in the application form
