📋 Description

• Design, build, and ship features and services for Chainguard Containers from design through production and initial customer use • Own trade-offs involving scope, sequencing, prioritization, and shipping quality • Use AI coding agents to build, review, and operate software safely • Investigate problems across other teams' services, customer calls, support tickets, and go-to-market data • Maintain system health through observability, on-call, and preventative fixes • Write design notes, pull request descriptions, and status updates for a remote team • Build hardened container images, registry services, and tooling for engineers and AI agents • Own end-to-end projects in small sub-teams of two to four engineers

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years building and operating software used by paying customers • High agency and urgency • Judgment on trade-offs • Systems thinking across build pipelines, registries, and customer clusters • Daily use of agentic coding tools • Comfort with ambiguity • Strong fundamentals in a systems language (Go preferred) • Experience with API design, databases and caching, and cloud infrastructure on GCP or AWS • Working knowledge of containers, container registries, OCI image format, and Kubernetes • Excellent written English • Experience working on a distributed, remote-first team • No visa sponsorship or relocation provided
