📋 Description

• Develop, maintain, and deliver education services to students • Create and maintain core curriculum • Ensure delivery of core curriculum • Prepare course plans and materials • Impart knowledge, develop career abilities, and instill professional attitudes in a creative and enthusiastic learning environment • Advise students to enhance their educational experience • Assist pharmacy technician students in processing prescriptions and maintaining the pharmacy department • Provide competency-based education • Deliver online instruction for the approved Pharmacy Technician course • Enable student exit competencies • Deliver learner-centered instruction through distance delivery mechanisms • Encourage student success • Manage the online class environment • Contribute to a culture of learning • Relate industry experience to learning • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and college policies and processes • Identify, measure, and supply pharmaceutical products ordered by a prescriber • Teach pharmacy technician duties across hospital and retail pharmacy settings • Teach medication, order-entry, refill processes, and medication safety • Instruct students in pharmacology, computer technology, sterile and non-sterile compounding, billing and reimbursement, direct patient care, inventory management, pharmacy law and regulations, and quality assurance • Identify and review pharmacy technician certification examination components • Monitor instructor lesson plans and their posting • Conduct pharmacy lab/skills sessions to develop clinical master skills • Maintain faculty files according to CHCP and ABHES requirements • Monitor TWC, federal, and accrediting standards compliance • Meet education and fiscal metrics including attendance, student persistence, satisfaction, testing/certification, and new student persistence where applicable • Prepare and implement new courses or textbooks when required • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Must be located in San Antonio, Mcallen or Fort Worth • Certification in Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) and/or at least 3 years of experience in the Pharmacy Tech field • Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in a Pharmacy • Must be an ABHES and TWC-approved Instructor • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral • Strong interpersonal skills with supervisor and staff populations • Superior organization, prioritization, and self-motivation skills • Strong computer literacy skills with the Microsoft Office Suite • Ability to interact effectively as either a leader or as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments • Ability to listen to customers (e.g. staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests • Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities • Ability to manage multiple tasks and successfully meet deadlines
